How your notes are stored

Notes are saved with your browser's local storage, on this device only. We never see them, and there's no account. That also means notes don't follow you to another phone or computer, and clearing your browser data deletes them. Use Download as CSV now and then to keep a copy you can open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

What's worth writing down

• The final time, not the planned one. If you added two minutes, record the total.
• Amount of food. Six wings and twelve wings cook differently.
• Starting state: fresh, thawed or frozen.
• What you changed: oil, a flip, a higher finish, a liner.
• The result, so you know whether to repeat it or adjust it.

An example note

Here's what a useful note looks like. Food: chicken wings, 8 pieces, thawed. Temperature: 195°C / 380°F. Time: 26 minutes. Air fryer: 6 qt basket. Result: perfect. Notes: patted dry, 1 tsp oil and baking powder, shook at 12 minutes, 3 minutes at 205°C to finish. Next time you cook wings, you can repeat it exactly, or change one thing and compare.

Turning notes into better results

After two or three batches, patterns show up. If almost everything finishes at the low end of our ranges, your fryer runs hot, so start checking earlier across the board. If foods are cooked but pale, try a light spray of oil and a final 2 minutes at the top temperature. If one side is darker, your fan pushes air unevenly, so turn the food more often.
